Frequently Asked Questions and Information
Frequently Asked Questions and Information
How do I buy?
If my shop is empty of products that means they have sold out. Some of my items sell quickly (minutes to hours) so being ready for a website update is crucial if you want to get something specific. Follow my social medias (Instagram is my most updated platform) and subscribe to my newsletter so you don't miss out on news. I announce all my updates in advance and put them in my IG bio and in the banner on my website. I also put items up for preview (the will show a coming soon banner across the photo) in my shop before a sale so you can check out info, prices, pictures etc. Figure out the time change from my time zone (MDT OR MST in MONTANA depending on the time of the year) to your time zone on a website like this. Be ready and waiting on my website before the update, have your payment info ready to go.
How do I learn to do what you do?
FOLLOW ME ON YOUTUBE! I'll show you how I do, what I do.
Can I copy your designs or use their likeness for my own work?
Yes and No. If I create a YouTube tutorial for a creation by all means PLEASE create and tag me so I can see! My tutorials are made to help artists and beginners learn and to make a specific design. I ask that you please do not mass produce my designs or sell them, as my tutorials are for learning and personal use only (not for making money). Please use your own unique designs and characters for business purposes. Passing off a design as your own, when it was a tutorial designed by someone else is dishonest and rude to the person who spent the time to make the tutorial. Some of my designs and my original characters are my own and not for tutorials or reproduction. Do not copy designs I use for apparel on my print on demand shops. If it's not an obvious YT tutorial, please do not copy that design or character. I'd also appreciate a tag or shout out if you use my tutorials in a piece of art you show online.
Coming Soon, what does it mean?
I put items up for preview (they will show a coming soon banner across the photo) in my shop before a sale so you can check out info, prices, pictures and decide what item you want BEFORE and update (since my items can sell quickly). The coming soon items will not be available for purchase until the time of my update. At that time the banner will be removed and the item will be available for purchase. You can also follow my social medias on my website landing page or sign up for my newsletter to stay up to date on what I'm creating.
Where are you located and who runs this shop?
All items on my website shop will ship from my location in Idaho (USA). Fairies and Fancies is a one woman shop, I design, make, sell, ship and manage everything myself accept my POD ( print on demand items). For POD orders made through Threadless, they fulfill your order through their website and ship it to you.
How long does it take my order to ship?
I have a one to three day processing time. It usually takes me 1-3 days to pack and get your orders to the post office, I strive to get orders out ASAP (the next available shipping day if possible). From there it's up to USPS. Depending on the shipping you bought it can take 2-8 days for domestic US orders, and 2-12 weeks for international orders. All US orders come with tracking, but international order tracking will vary by country. Be advised if you purchase priority shipping or any shipping for that matter-the speed of delivery starts once I deliver your package to the post office (not from the time of purchase). The shipping speed you paid for does not include my processing time of 1-3 days. I try to get orders out ASAP, but due to life's unpredictability-I sometimes need 1-3 days to make it to the post office. Be aware that no shipping service is perfect, and may take longer than stated. There is nothing I can do about that. If you have issues with your order, email me and I'll try to help you best I can. For POD items bought through Threadless you’ll need to pick your shipping speed and check their processing times as they are a separate entity from me.
Do you ship world wide?
Yes and no. I do not ship to the UK or EU countries due to their VAT taxes. I simply do not have the money or time to deal with taxes from multiple countries (doing U.S. taxes is hard and expensive enough). I do not ship to ship to certain countries due to unreliable post office systems or due to the higher risk of counterfeiting. If you can't check out it's most likely because there are no shipping options for your country, due to these issues. I'm sorry to disappoint anyone, but I must do what's best for my business and myself. Threadless ships items worldwide.
Why is there no (insert item) in your shop?
Because all those items have sold. If the items aren't showing, I have sold of out and I'm working on the next batch of creations. I'm the only artist behind this business (I can only make so much). I put a lot of time and effort into my pieces and I strive for the best quality I can create. Your best bet is to follow my social medias (especially my Instagram) so you know when I'll putting new items in the shop, and what will be available and when they will be available. When I have a date and time picked for a website update, I always put it in my Instagram bio and the top banner of my website. If it says TBA (To Be Announced) it means I haven't picked a day to post new products.
Custom Orders and Commissions
I do not make or remake items on request. I do not offer custom orders or commissions for multiple reasons and I will not be opening them in the future. Custom orders would slow down my already tedious time frame for creating art. It also takes the joy out of creating for me and makes creating art feel like homework. I do not enjoy it, nor do I have the time or patience for it.
When will you post new products to your website?
Your best bet is to follow my Instagram so you know when I'll putting new items in the shop, and what will be available and when they will be available. When I have a date and time picked for a website update, I always put it in my Instagram Bio. If it says TBA (To Be Announced) it means I haven't picked a day to post new products yet.
Does putting an item in my cart hold it for me?
No, putting an item in your cart doesn’t hold it for you. Which means that item is up for grabs until you finish checking out. If someone else has that same item in their cart and they check out faster than you, they will get the item.

How do you determine your prices?
My pricing is based off time to complete an item, cost of supplies to make item, amount of detail, demand and my skill set. I'm a full time artist and I work hard at what I do and I feel I deserve fair pay for that. I make everything by hand with love, and the quality standards for my work is very high. I try to have a good range of prices for my items so everyone can hopefully find something they can afford.
Holds, Payment Plans and Personalized Orders
I don't offer them at this time. I keep things fair, please do not ask for special treatment.
CHOKING HAZARD and Proper Age For my Items (13 and up)
Although my items are cute and built to be sturdy they are for teen (13+) and adult art collectors only. They are collectible one of kind items, not toys for young children. These items are not intended to be roughly handled or to be played with. The small parts on some of my items can be choking hazards if removed and swallowed by a young child, keep them out of reach of little ones for their safety.
Can I sell art I bought from you?Customers are allowed to re-sell purchased art if it's a personal piece and you need the funds or no longer want the item. Customers are NOT allowed to buy multiple dolls/toys from me and then re-sell them for profit. If I find out a customer is buying multiple dolls and re-selling them for profit, I will blacklist the customer and they will no longer be able to purchase from me. If a customer is selling my work for nefarious reasons, I will blacklist them and they will no longer be able to buy my work. I reserve the right to blacklist ANY customer from purchasing my art, for any reason If I feel it poses a threat to me or my business and possible take legal action if necessary.
Where do you sell your items?
Only through my website (www.fairiesandfancies.com) and through Threadless (www.fairiesandfancies.threadless.com).
Can you mark my bought items as gifts, so I don't have to pay customs fees?
No I won't. I know it sucks to pay extra fees on top of international shipping charges, and I appreciate customers who are willing to pay it. When I sign a customs form it is a federal document and it is illegal for me to falsify information on said document (perjury) . If customs realizes the information is false you (the customer) will be liable for fees anyway and any legal issues arising from it. I can't engage in illegal behavior that can put me, my business, or you at risk.
What art dolls/art toys?So what is an art doll? Essentially, it’s an original work of art in a doll form. Art dolls are objects of collectible art, rather than children's toys. They are created in a wide variety of styles and media, and may include both pre-manufactured parts or wholly original works. Art dolls can be fully sculpted or partially sculpted from clay, casted resin or plastic with soft bodies. Some art dolls have armature that allows them to be posed (my fairy fluffs do not). The process of making art dolls by hand is more labor-intensive and time-consuming than industrialized doll production, which in most of cases are made identical and in large quantities. Most art dolls are one of a kind works of art. Art doll collectors enjoy finding art dolls that fit their unique style and personality. Art dolls come in endless shapes, themes, prices and sizes. Some look human-like, some don’t. The term “doll” covers many designs from human like to fantasy creature. If you’d like more information or examples of art dolls, google “art dolls” or “what is an art doll”. Designer Toys, also called art toys, are toys and collectibles created by artists and designers that are either self-produced or made by small, independent toy companies, typically in very limited editions. Artists use a variety of materials, such as ABS plastic, vinyl, wood, metal, latex, plush and resin. Some artists create their toys using synthetic resin material and resin casting (that's what I do). The process of making resin toys by hand is more labor-intensive and time-consuming than industrialized vinyl toy production, which in most of cases are made identical and in large quantities. But resin casting allows me (and other artists) to produce custom toys in small numbers. Unlike most vinyl toys, resin toys are usually sculpted, cast, and painted by a single artist. My art toys are sculpted, molded, casted and painted by me.

I'm allergic to (X Allergy), am I safe?
I do not use fragrances with my products and I thoroughly wash my hands of any food remnants before packing orders. Any candies sent with orders are sent in sealed bags. I own a dog and I try to keep them away from completed products but my dog is allowed in my studio and work areas. I do my best to keep my areas clean but I cannot guarantee that my products are 100% dander free because I cant see dander. My resin figures are made from cured epoxy resin, faux fur (never real fur) and some are painted in water based acrylic paints. I use Nitrile gloves while creating (no latex). If you have any other allergen concerns please feel free to contact me at fairiesandfancies@gmail.com.

-Resin Key chains are made sturdy but can become scratched over time if hung with metal keys.

What are your art dolls and art toys made of?
My art dolls are mainly made from faux fur bodies, stuffing, polymer clay and resin plastic parts for strength. I make all my art dolls eyes myself from glass cabochons. My figurines are made from epoxy resin or resin plastic. My items are painted with acrylics paints and various pigments, glitters and embellishments. The paint is then sealed with a clear finish to protect it. All my characters and designs are created with hand sculpting, silicone molding, painting/airbrushing and resin pressure casting techniques.
